Blueberries are true-blue American. Native Americans called them ‘star berries’ due to the 5-point star formed by the blossom end. American poet Robert Frost wrote a poem about blueberries. And blueberry jelly beans were created especially for President Ronald Reagan.
They are a refreshing, low-calorie treat and an antioxidant superfood. If there were ever a fountain of youth, it would probably contain the juice of the blueberry. That’s because blueberries can help counteract the effects of aging, both physically and mentally.

How to freeze your blueberries for future use
- It is preferable not to wash the berries before freezing
- If rinsing before freezing:
- Rinse well

- To ensure the best quality, enjoy them within six months.

Look for firm blueberries, deep blue in color with a silvery sheen and smooth skin.
The darker the blueberry, the more antioxidants it contains. Their size and shape actually have no effect on their taste. And, of course, always look for the SunnyRidge Farm label. |
